I have a model of the Mariner 5 spacecraft and I'd like to know more about it. The previous owner acquired it through an auction sometime early 2000, but that is all I know. It's cool but it is quite big and I don't have a good space for it, so not sure what to do with it. Keep it or sell or perhaps donate to a school or museum. What do you guys think? |

Ah yes of course. The base is approximately 7 inches. The height including the base is roughly 16 inches. With the panels folded down, the width is about 24 inches. |

It is a really nice relic from the early days of planetary exploration. I have searched the material that I have relating to Mariner V and found nothing about that model. As a side note, I believe that it represents the last Mariner spacecraft to not have an imaging system on board. That being written, I hope that you find someplace (a museum or visitor's center) where it could be properly displayed. |
