I saw this being advertised locally as a Russian space flown helmet. I'm not so sure and suspect it to be a high altitude helmet or the like. I still may buy it armed with some expert information given to me by readers of this site. Please can anybody identify this helmet?

The helmet is a high-altitude full pressure helmet designed to be used with a capstan partial pressure high altitude suit. It is incomplete as it is missing the hoses, wiring, and pressure regulator as well as the fabric restraint hood and pressure bladder. It is also missing the externally mounted sun visor. A separate snoopy cap type communication carrier is worn inside the helmet. The nomenclature of the helmet would be on a label sewn to the fabric restraint hood. The red star on the helmet indicates the helmet is actually a Chinese TK-1 helmet which is a copy of the Russian GSh-4. | |
