I have been digging through hundreds of boxes of space and aviation stuff that I'm going to sell. I came across a few boxes of contractor models, a few that I bought from a McDonnell engineer many years ago and I'm thinking of selling. I've rediscovered a vintage MOL Hyatt model on the black plastic base with silver aluminum arm holding the MOL at a 45 degree angle. This model has Michael J. Adams on the silver metal description plate. It's in excellent condition with some minor paint cracking at the bottom of the MOL, typical yellowing of the decals but overall it's in beautiful shape. I also have a beautiful first generation X-15 NAA model with Michael Adams name engraved on the base from the same McDonnell engineer. I also found two excellent vintage PacMin models of the DC-9 and DC-10 presented to the chief test pilot with the first flight stats on the wood base. The next model is the 1/30 scale contractor model of the Gemini spacecraft with the clear plastic arch over it in mint condition. Lastly is the Lockheed Titan model that's new in the silver Lockheed box from the 60s. These all came from the same McDonnell engineer. I have no idea of value, where is the best place to list these or find out their value? After having a bad experience with Heritage, I'm real leery about sending anything to an auction house. Thanks for your help. |

I can highly recommend RR Auction. I have never had a problem in more than 15 years whether selling or buying. |

Here is my 2 cents on prices: - MOL is a $200-400 model
- X-15 $200-500
- Gemini Arch $300-600
- The Titan will depend on it being a Titan I or II, The I does not bring as much so $150-250 the Titan II is $200 -300
- The Pac Min aircraft models are dependent on scale but on the resale market assuming a 1/72 scale they are around $150-200
That all said, the model market can have big swings and it is dependent on the condition, name associated with it and the "fever" of the particular auction.Lunar Legacies is a good place to sell. I would also reach out to RR Auction as they sell every month or wait for their spring space auction. |

The Mike Adams name plate could have an impact on the price.Since you did not relate any specific provenance for the items other than that it came from a McDonnell engineer, I assume you do not have any further provenance. However, some bidders/buyers may place a premium on them because of that possible connection to Adams. |

The last model is an Agena. Typically selling around $200 but with box could be in the $300 range. |
