I am wondering what other collectors' opinions are on this Apollo 15 insurance cover.I am assuming it's not from one of the crew members personal collection. But the only red flag I can see is the price. I am a big believer in "if it's too good to be true then it probably is." |

That indeed is a crew-signed insurance cover, most likely from the collection of Apollo 15 CMP Al Worden (I bought one directly from his holdings). These are probably the most affordable of the Apollo crew insurance covers, and are not particularly rare so the starting price is very reasonable. See this website for a detailed description. |

Not necessarily from Worden himself. If it was, it should have a LOA of his along with a cover number and notation on its back-side surface. Many of the same crew signed vintage MSCSC-cachet covers like this were not official crew-owned insurance covers. Members of the NASA stamp club in Houston along with Rand, etc., had early access to them, both crew signed and unsigned issues. |

Thanks for your thoughts. I've only once seen one of these covers for sale in the UK at an autograph fair. That one had come from Al Worden's collection, had an LOA, and information written on the back of the cover, with an additional Al Worden signature. It was also a bit more expensive but that is probably due to its provenance. |
