I recently picked up a signed copy of Alan Shepard's book, and am curious if the autograph is genuine. Does anyone with experience with his signature care to offer an opinion?
Thanks in advance for all replies.

Looks authentic. It just happens to be one of his quick rushed book signing signatures though.

A friend opined a while ago that one hallmark of the Shepard "Moon Shot" sigs being genuine was they looked liked they were signed "A. Stupid."

I've got the same signature type in my own copy of the book (see below), bought in the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum shop in Washington DC in 1994/95. Though mine has a little card/COA from the publisher included inside the book.
As you can see mine is much uglier, the 'd' not even there.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad this one is a keeper.
