A Jack Swigert autograph is listed on eBay by JG Autographs, any views on whether this is real? |

I won this auction. I thought it looked simply like a slightly quicker signature that still looks like a lot of Swigerts I've seen that have some flair to the signature.Steve Zarelli has very kindly agreed to look at it so Ive asked the seller if he'd give me a refund if Steve doesn't authenticate it and I'm waiting to hear back. I trust Steve's opinion far more than anyone else's so if he says its bad then that's what I go with, but I certainly didn't think it looked horrible at all. After looking at it for a long time I felt it was good but I'm not a Swigert expert by any stretch so we shall see. |

With the auction about to end in a few hours and without time to get verification I didn't feel confident enough to bid, especially as I am not familiar with Swigert's autograph, so didn't. If it is real well done to Jason. |

You were smart in not bidding on this because it is a very atypical signature, even if rushed. |

Even if it is real, being atypical means it would be hard for someone to put their name to it. I hope for Jason's sake someone does. |

I'd have very little confidence in that autograph being authentic. Even Swigert rushed signatures (such as on election material) don't look nearly as hurried (sloppy) and as atypical as this one, and I think he'd have been unlikely to sign SO hurriedly on a WSS litho, but then add the mission under his signature - - in short, nothing (pointing to authenticity) adds up. (Possible, but very unlikely in my opinion). |

I'll just go with what Steve says on it. I certainly feel like the signature could be authentic and definitely isn't "horrible", but I'll just wait to hear from Steve on it and accept his opinion as I trust his more than anyone's. I find that collecting is a lot easier if you have the motto "So and so didn't sign it unless Steve says so." lolI've dealt with this seller before and he has told me I can get a refund if Steve doesn't authenticate it. |

I appreciate your confidence, Jason, but you are making me blush!I am proud of my track record, however we need to recognize there are other long time collectors and dealers who have very credible and educated opinions. I look forward to having this item in hand and giving it my best thinking. But I would not position my opinion as the be-all or end-all. |

I agree Steve, but you come pretty close. |
