While looking for mission patches or flown artifacts, came across this. E-mail submitted to NASA-OIG with link, should they be interested.(Guessing it is nothing more than a piece of metal, not related to STS-51-L or the space program). |

That same seller had a few of those listed. To me it looks like a melted bullet. They can deform into shapes similar to that when they impact the ground. I wonder if he scavenged these from a firing range. |

It's a scam. If it is as he claims, part of Challenger, it's illegal to own. It's still NASA property and part of the orbiter. It belongs to NASA and should be returned to them. |
