I looked at this crew photo and Ron Evans definitely looked like autopen. But, Schmitt I am not sure. I don't see this example in any autopen libraries. Second, and I am not sure if you can tell from the image, the width of the stroke seems to be wider at the end, and a little bolder. Now common sense tells me, it is very unlikely to have two autopens and one original on a crew photo, but I would appreciate thoughts on this one. Thanks much. Chris |

Not necessarily. I have a few examples of early shuttle crews that have a mix of autopens and actual signatures. |

Yep, autopens all the way around as many of these were passed out even before Apollo 17's crew was going to the moon before Dec. 1972. |

Looks like the one I received from NASA the night of the launch. Ken confirmed it as an autopen in 2009. Still a great memento. |
