A fake TMA-17 patch has been spotted on eBay, this one is a little hard to detect.
Some clues:
The real patch has silver metalic thread in some places;
ISS too large;
Letters in real patch are not connected by single stitches;
Japanese flag has too large red circle.
The same seller also has a fake version of Tim's X-15 patch and a fake version of Detlev's Astrolab patch.

Thanks for the heads-up Erik. The stolen knock-off X-15 patch he is selling is a terrible reproduction. I hope he has to eat his inventory.
His STS-129 is a knock-off too.

I have asked the seller and he told me that the X-15 patches are from the Dryden Flight Research Center visitor service.
On edit: In addition he told me that he got the STS-129 and TMA-17 patches from a Huntsville based seller.
