I have an original Explorer 1 nose cone made when the original was made. My father was the developer of the machine that made the nose cone. Just wondering what the value of something like that would be if anyone has an idea. Not sure the family would ever sell it as it's a piece of our history but it's also a very important piece of our National history as well. I don't think there are a lot of these floating around. It was made with a process called floturning. Any replies would be appreciated.

Nice piece however fabrication is not complete; the final article would have fastener holes milled around the circumference of the base (there is another Explorer nose cone circulating in a private collection in the Huntsville Al area).
