PRICE: $275 + S&H - STS-2 Deorbit Burn Cue Card (Unbalanced PRPLT / Mixed XFEED Card) - Training-Used (Ex. Sherwood Spring)
This flight-ready article was prepared for the STS-2 mission and used in training at Johnson Space Center. It was obtained in the late-1980s from Astronaut Sherwood Spring (Mission Specialist, STS-61-B) during a visit to the Astronaut Office. At the time, Spring reported that the cards had been given to him by Bob Crippen sometime around 1985. When originally obtained, the card came in a clear plastic bag with a "SAIL – Do Not Remove" sticker, indicating they originated in the Shuttle Avionics Integration Laboratory (SAIL)—the only place where actual orbiter hardware and flight software could be integrated and tested in a simulated flight environment. Printed on thick cardboard, the card features multiple hook-and-loop squares, allowing it to be attached to control panels in the cockpit for easy reference during the mission. Owing to their scarcity and direct association with mission preparations, training cue cards from the first missions are exceedingly desirable artifacts from the earliest days of the Shuttle Program. This item comes with a lifetime guarantee of authenticity, as well as an Orbital Artifacts COA describing the item and its provenance. More info here. Price: $200 + S&H - SOLD - Flown ISS Cargo Transport Bag label card carried to the International Space Station on Progress M-02M (ISS-33P), which launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on 7 May, 2009.
While Shuttle-flown ISS labels are relatively common, examples launching from Baikonur on Russian Progress vehicles are much rarer. The Progress-M (Прогресс-M) spacecraft is an uncrewed Russian cargo resupply vehicle. Three to four Progress missions are launched to the ISS each year, carrying fresh supplies, equipment, and other essentials. This label was used on a Cargo Transfer Bag (CTB) destined from the US segment of the ISS, identifying the bag's contents and their maximum toxicity rating. When no longer needed, the bag and label were returned to earth on a departing Shuttle flight in order to make room for new cargo. The card measures 5.25" x 4," and is printed on a special fire-retardant paper. This card comes from the personal collection of a KSC Quality Assurance Inspector who removed it during post-flight processing from a returning Shuttle mission. Ships with an Orbital Artifacts Certificate of Authenticity. More info here. Price: $40 + S&H - SOLD |
