For sale is a set of two vintage 12-inch diameter faux wood plaques depicting the Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 crew emblems. The plaques appear to be solid plastic, made to imitate highly contoured carved wood. The effect is very well done. The Apollo 11 plaque has “Peters 1970” molded along the edge. There is no date or markings on the Apollo 13 plaque, but the materials and techniques are the same and it is obviously from the same source. The backs are covered with a parchment-like paper with no hanging or attachment points (but the back beneath the paper is solid and hangers could easily be attached to the lightweight plaques). There is no damage or wear to either plaque – they are both in essentially new condition and display extremely well. Would look great with other Apollo items.
