Inspired by the camaraderie of the Armed Services and in response to the "ISS is Army Strong" patch and the "Join Us and See the World"
U.S. Navy Shuttle and Station Astronauts Patch, One Giant Leap asked patch artist Tim Gagnon of Titusville, Fla., to create a U.S. Air Force Astronauts patch honoring those men and women who have flown in space from Project Mercury through the ISS.
This fully embroidered patch is stunning in Air Force Blue, White and Silver. It depicts the ISS in orbit above the Earth. A Red, White and Blue trajectory rom the Earth to the full Moon pays tribute to the USAF Astronauts who flew during Apollo.
The fifteen stars (14 in space and one on the Moon) represent the fifteen U.S. Air Force Astronauts who participated in the Apollo program. They are: Virgil Grissom, Edward White, Donn Eisele, Frank Borman, William Anders, James McDivitt, David Scott, Thomas Stafford, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, Jack Swigert, Stuart Roosa, James Irwin, Alfred Worden and Charles Duke. The seven stars to the left of the ISS represent the seven USAF Astronauts who have served aboard the station. They are: have served aboard the ISS. They are: Susan Helms, Carl Walz, Michael Fincke, Catherine "Cady" Coleman, Ronald Garan, Michael Fossum and Kevin Ford.
The patch is a limited edition fundraiser for One Giant Leap, Inc. and is $25.00 each. Shipping is additional via USPS Priority Mail. Domestic add $5.50; International add $15.00. I accept Paypal or check.
