So here's the latest Crew Patches replica project - the LM-1 / APOLLO-5 patch. The original patches were apparently produced by Grumman employees based at the KSC at the time of the first Lunar Module flight. This is not really part of the Grumman LM patch series that were based on the decal designs produced by employees at the Bethpage plant, since this Lm-1 design actually existed as an embroidered patch at the time. Indeed the design was unique to the patch and not based on a decal or any other artwork that I've seen. Whatever their background, the original patches have proved to be very difficult to find in recent years, with prices climbing up to the $345 to $438 range for the three examples sold in the last couple of years. More people have requested a replica of this patch than any other, so by popular demand here it is: The patch is fully-embroidered and measures 4 1/8" (105mm) across. I will be able to begin mailing these patches on or around February 27, but I'm taking pre-orders now. If you want to order one of these patches please go to the Replica Store page of my CrewPatches.com site. As ever, worldwide delivery of this patch is included for free. |

Thanks Chris. I ordered one and I'm glad to see that you are having them produced. I was one of the many who asked about having this reproduced... great doings.Any chance of the LM3 patch? I know it crude, but it would complete the circle to go with the LM1, and the patches your produced based off the decals? |

I may tackle the LM-3 patch, ugly as it is, but not immediately. It's a very expensive business and on most of these replicas I haven't yet broken even. This means I need to wait a while until I've at least got some of the money back before I start the next one. |

My order is in. I've wanted one for a while, but the originals are a little out of my price range. Thanks for making an excellent replica available Chris. |

Just thought I'd give people a heads-up that my LM-1 replica patch is now almost sold out. This has always been quite a popular patch but I have no plans to produce another run at this time as it would take years to break even. If you're looking to buy one of these you should move fast while stocks last. Please visit the Store page of my CrewPatches site to order. |
