Offered is one of the very scarce and highly collectible original Apollo 11 crew patches, as described by Chris Spain on his wonderful site.
This patch design was worn by the crew on their Biological Isolation Garments at recovery time and on their post-flight blue jump suits. There were also some examples of this patch that were flown aboard the mission.
Manufacturer: Texas Art Embroidery
Distribution: Limited to NASA and the crew
Dimensions: 4" / 105mm
Type: Fully embroidered. Merrowed edge without 'tail' (selvedged).
Scarcity: Extremely rare. Maybe 4 to 5 sold per year.
This patch was offered with other lots from a close friend of Aldrin's, who received them directly from him in the 1970s. The patch is said to have been flown, but of course, in the 1970s no COAs existed so the patch is being offered as NOT flown, but it is indeed a wonderful opportunity for a collector to acquire a highly desirable truly rare Apollo 11 item that may have the added beneifit of having been flown.
$500 plus $15 register/insured shipping and handling.

You can buy one that is signed by Mike Collins and from his collection at Astronaut Central for $595. I paid around $550 for the one I have.
