Good to hear that the books are not only arriving safely, but that people are really liking the signed insert. Steve did a great job on this, and the insert is a real "keeper" for sure.Keep those comments coming in, folks. |

The signed insert is wonderful. It looks great, much better in person than the picture at the top of this thread. What a great achievement to put this together. I have not started to read the book, but I am looking forward to it. |

Hey Steve, just checking to see if you are still in the process of filling your orders for this book. I ordered one way back at the beginning and haven't received it yet. I know it takes time to send out 300 books, especially at this time of year. Just wanted to make sure my order hasn't gotten lost in the shuffle. Thanks, and happy holidays! |

Hi Steve. Please add my name to the above post, along with a signed copy of "Falling to Earth". I have attempted to email and call, but have not heard back. Any update to the status of the order? Thanks. |

Steve, Any word on when my book has or will be shipped? I've tried sending emails but to no avail. Payment was sent via Paypal on 12th December. |

Steve, it has been almost two months since you answered my inquiry regarding the availability of "Selecting the Mercury Seven" and "Falling to Earth", and you accepting my payment. Since that time there has been no shipment and no communication, although I have tried to contact you on the phone and via email. Please provide an update. |

I don't yet have my copy either. Not really complaining as I have plenty of reading material on hand, but would like an update. |

There is no doubt that tracking and shipping these books has been a daunting task for me to keep up with. Between two books and over 300 of Scott Carpenter's 40 anniversary patches, my tracking systems have been tested to the max. I am however trying to be responsive and for the 1300+ orders (patches included) I am down to a very small number that I show as either not yet paid or marked "shipped" hat may in fact, not have been. In a very few cases, I've had reports of books that WERE shipped have not been received. Where possible, I have replaced them at my cost though my ability to do this is extremely limited. Fortunately these situations are very rare as the mails have proven most reliable. So, I ask that anyone who believes they should have received a book but hasn't, to please contact me. In addition to my email address, my cell phone number is 310.892.5150. Books are still available and I promise my only goal at the end of the day is to have satisfied customers, so don't hesitate to give me a shout, okay? (as opposed to shouting at me, LOL). Oh, and always encourage you to catch me directly rather than posting to these boards. I think I've contacted via email, each of of you who have posted here to say you're still waiting but if not, please let me know. Thanks to all! |

I'm glad you've got faith Steve. The trouble with tracking on international shipping is that the tracking ends at the border... whether it's UK-US or vice-versa. Certainly it's a complete rip-off in the UK, as with any form of so-called "recorded delivery." In a week where I've had two valuable parcels left on the doorstep all day and my sister discovered that her nice postman has been hoarding local mail in his garage since October, I'd suggest that you oblige international recipients to take insurance (or ship Fedex) if your own insurance doesn't cover the loss. |

As noted in this thread, I've been offering a very special edition (includes a multi-signed insert) of this, Colin's latest book and still am at $44.95 (plus shipping). Details can be found by visiting farthestreaches.com and scrolling down the home page. Well, I'm now pleased to offer this wonderful slice of space history (sans the insert), but hand signed on the title page of each and every copy by Colin Burgess, for the greatly reduced price of $22 and this includes shipping to any US location and to most international destinations for only $32. Shipping of multiple copies is of course dependent upon number of copies and shipping location. I highly recommend the special edition at $44.95 but think that $22, including shipping for a hand signed copy is a real deal and an awesome opportunity to pick up this wonderful book for yourself or as a gift for that special friend. If you do the math, you'll see that you just can't go wrong at this price! Please call 310.892.5150 or email to order your copy(ies) or if questions. Thanks as always for your continued support... |

Pristine copies of this title along with the complimentary insert as still available in time to receive for the upcoming holiday. This one is a hidden jewel and the insert makes it unique. The only copies available with the insert are those purchased through Farthest Reaches. Visit FarthestReaches.com and click into the Signed Books from our home page for more information. The price for this book is currently $55 with the value of the insert alone worth the price of admission. Each copy is in pristine condition. Happy Holidays everyone!! |

I didn't realize Steve still had copies of this book, but I'm delighted that he is continuing to make the last remaining copies available. I signed all of his copies of the book during a visit to Los Angeles. The printed inserts were a somewhat risky initiative that Steve and I worked out together, and was a specially-designed loose insert that we placed in just 300 copies of the book, and were signed by seven of the 25 unsuccessful Mercury candidates. Those signing were three Navy, three Air Force and one Marine Corps candidates — the same as the seven test pilots eventually chosen. The signees were Harold Christian, Richard Corbett, Dale Cox, Frank Frazier, Thomas Hayward, Robert Solliday and John Tierney. Of those, only Frank Frazier and Thomas Hayward are still with us today. This is your chance to hold a piece of authentically signed spaceflight history in your hands, as well as the only available book to tell the story of the way in which NASA selected the seven Mercury astronauts, and contains extensive biographies and other information on all 32 candidates. |
