I'm balancing the "I can't wait for it to get here" with the "Steve will take care of it, and once it's here it won't matter how long it took because I'll have the rest of my life to enjoy it" rationale. (And to Colin: my order for "Selecting the Mercury Seven" went in last weekend. Can't wait to read it!) |

Still waiting for mine here in Seattle, but I know how Steve packages things! Almost don't want to open the package since he does such a nice job. Al Worden was here in Seattle last weekend and gave a good lecture and a book signing. I got a couple books signed for a friend. |

Mine was waiting at the post office this morning. Totally worth the wait. Box took a hit en route but everything inside was in perfect shape. Thank you, Steve. This is so nice, I'm afraid to touch it! |

An additional 40 orders mailed yesterday and today. Am closing in on completing fulfillment though not quite there yet. Thanks to all for your patience. Have never experienced such high demand for a book as I have with Al's. I hope you're all enjoying your copies and the complimentary hand signed poem. Was my pleasure to be able to offer it to the collecting community... |

Steve, this project has been a huge undertaking for you. I received my copy here in Scotland yesterday. The consumers have given a lot of publicity to the 'waiting aspect' of their orders. With the end product now in my hands, I can see the value of what you have done for collectors who will hopefully come forward with much praise for the 'quality aspect'. We are fortunate to have the Steve Hankows of this community who do so much for us. |

Thanks for your kind words. As a collector myself, am also sensitive to the "waiting aspect" and am always most eager to find that package waiting at my door. As a dealer however, I tend to dwell on things such as how to get the package to its final destination in perfect condition. Sometimes its a challenge and in the case of these books though I've figured it out and have it down to a science, the cost has been my having to make a considerable investment in time in order to "overpack" each order. Is for this reason, I have most sincerely appreciated everyone's patience as the process has taken sometime for the 700+ orders received. One thing I have never done and never will, is to sacrifice quality packaging. My thanks to every one of you for your continued support... |

Steve, I think you'll be amused and a little flattered to know that last night I packed a very valuable book for shipment to a friend in Alaska. I had saved all the packing materials from my copy of "Falling to Earth," so what did I do but wrap this book exactly the same way in the exact same materials!Thank you for going the extra mile for us. It is very much appreciated. |

I haven't received mine yet and the first one including gift is already on eBay. I met Al Worden in Noordwijk yesterday and bought a second copy which he signed for me. I would not dream of ever selling it. I will own two copies as soon as mine arrives and both will be in my astronaut bookcase. The reading was great, very enjoyable, he is a great speaker. |

Al Worden had first edition copies of Hello Earth at Spacefest 3. I bought a copy which he personalized for me. Great deal if he still has copies left!We also had the pleasure of sitting at his table during the banquet. His stories were memorable, and so was the food. I haven't received my order from Steve yet. He must be saving the best for last. Steve, If I didn't live 3,000 miles away, I would gladly help you pack and ship. You are doing a great job! |

Received my copy today. I have skim read parts and it seems well written compared to many astronaut's written accounts. It is good to see Al being so honest about his feelings re the Apollo 15 cover problems. Thanks Steve for taking the time to devise the extra and getting Al and Francis to sign. As previous members have mentioned the book was robustly packaged, good show! I look forward with anticipation to Selecting the Mercury Seven! |

Well my copy has arrived here in Essex, and I picked it up from work this morning then went and collected my car, and left it in my van. And I'm now on holiday for a week so I still cant get my hands on it!Sounds like it has been worth the wait for everyone though so I guess another week wont hurt. |

Copies received.Kudos to Steve like everyone else said for the packaging. The box looked like someone had played a game of football/soccer, but the contents were A-OK. The poem is very nice. Begging to be framed. The wait time was long. However, Steve was forthcoming with explanations, and I understand. I suggested to Francis French that perhaps in a later edition of the book, some samples of Al's poetry might be nice, to show the reader a bit more about this side of Col. Worden. |

Glad you received your books. Currently, there are only about 60 books to ship and that will take care of everyone who preordered. This was a major chore but one I wouldn't trade for anything as I've enjoyed promoting Al by exposing as many people as possible to his life and accomplishments. I believe Al has been under recognized for years and hope this book will change all that. Back to the 60 remaining books. I'm packing and shipping them as fast as I can and anticipate they will all be out to you in short order. That being said, Colin Burgess's new book detailing the selection of the Mercury Astronauts is almost ready to ship with IT'S special insert and so I'm clearing the decks in preparation of his signing in the next several days. That book is much more limited with only 300 inserts available for distribution and anticipate they will not last long. If interested in placing an order, suggest you do so at your earilest convenience. I'm grateful to you all for your strong support over the years and specifically in this case for your patience. I'm hoping the extra care I've been taking to pack and ship as well as the complimentary hand signed poem has made it worth the wait. |

No worries or need to apologize. It's taken me awhile to ship such a large volume of books. I'd be impatient too. I get that. Just glad you were pleased with the package once it arrived. |

Actually, yes I have considered it. Being a home based business however makes it difficult because whoever is helping me out (paid or unpaid) also has access to my home. A common problem with this sort of business. The other issue is that I'm a bit of a control freak when it comes to HOW things are handled and packed. I am meticulous about packaging and is hard to find help that appreciates how fragile these items are and handles them accordingly. I would however consider bringing on help if just the right person were available. |

I received mine last week. Super job in packaging Steve. "Bulletproof" was an apt description. I've already finished it. An excellent read. It's like I was having a beer with Al and listening to him tell me the stories. The only way this book (and others) could be better is with color photographs. Maybe some day publishers will do that.Thank you Al for sharing your story with us and for your service to our country. Thank you Francis for helping make this such a great book. Thank you Steve for such an incredible offer and for your great customer service.

I am still waiting as well but I don't mind. I can't imagine how long it takes to pack one book in the bulletproof packaging people are describing when it's just one person. Novaspace is quick and such because there are several people working on items. Here, it's only Steve. I trust my book will get here; if he needs to take his time to make sure everything is correct and properly packed, I don't mind. Take your time Steve!! You are awesome to have even offered us this chance in the first place |

It would have been great to add more photos to the book, plus use color. With this in mind, a little like the bonus features on a DVD, we developed a special bonus images web site. Not only do we have many of the photos in color, we also added many photos that are not in the book after a thorough search through Al's archives. I hope you enjoy them. |
