Just got mine in today. When I got back from a car show (got to drive my dad's 63 Lincoln. So much fun to drive) I saw a USPS box and I knew what it was. Haven't read it yet but I did open it. The Rising from Earth poem and the layout of it is a jewel itself. Thank you so much to Col. Worden, Steve, Francis French and everyone else who made this possible. |

Just an FYI for everyone who has ordered Falling To Earth. I've been shipping like a madman since the signing on the 27th. Many of you should have received your books and others, any day now. I will continue to ship aggressively until everyone has their order in hand. The reaction to the poem has been most positive for which I am quite gratified. Thanks to all for your ongoing support... |

Mine arrived, too. Perfect condition. A wonderful addition to the bookshelf. Very tempted to frame the poem. (Mine came via USPS priority mail.) |

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about the poem and packaging for the books you have received. I continue to ship at a frantic pace and if you've not received yours, not to worry. I'm processing your orders as fast as these two hands can. This "special edition" was so well received that we are repeating it again with Colin Burgess's latest title, "Selecting the Mercury Seven" but more on that by visiting my home page or by watching this board for an upcoming post. Thanks to all for your ongoing support... |

I haven't received my book yet... but am not concerned. Steve and Farthest Reaches are top-notch and am positive they are working extremely hard to please everyone! By the way... I counted, and "Falling to Earth" will officially be my two hundred and fiftieth book on the manned space program! |

John, thanks for your kind words and patience. Yours will ship today. Yes, here in LA there IS a post office that is open 7 days per week and they have become my newest best friend (lol). A number of other orders have also been shipped out this weekend. I hope you are all enjoying the included signed poem... |

My copy arrived yesterday in perfect condition. The extra is very nice. I've barely started reading the book, but I know it's going to be good. Thanks for offering this, Steve, and for all of your efforts! |

For what it's worth, I think Falling to Earth is an excellent book; well written and informative as well as holding your interest. A signed, 1st edition will be a great addition to anyone's book collection. As a community, we are fortunate to have a number of terrific people available to fill our space related needs. There are several of these collector/dealers offering signed copies. And normally, it wouldn't matter who you got your copy from - they all provide first class service from the products they provide to the shipping and handling. However, in this particular case I think it would be worth a phone call to Farthest Reaches and see if they have any copies left with the bonus insert. I suspect those who have already received their copies will agree, the insert is worth the effort. A previously unpublished poem by Col. Worden, printed on heavy, "linen" type card stock and signed by Col. Worden as well. Its really a very nice stand alone piece; in my opinion, suitable for framing. |

As promised, I received my copy on Thursday. In my opinion there are four top writers on the subject of space exploration, Michael Collins, Andy Chaikin, Francis French and Colin Burgess. In "Falling to Earth" you can hear the words of Al Worden being painted with the literary brush of Francis French! I finished it in a day and a half... and found myself wanting more. |

Glad to hear they are still trickling in. I'm still anxiously waiting for mine to show up and you guys have been killing me by saying how awesome they are. I was walking through the Orlando airport this morning and walked into the NASA store. I couldn't wait to read it so I picked up a copy for the plane ride home. I got on the plane, opened it, and realized my "reading copy" is also signed! |

Ok George, you've shamed me into it. Your box is packed and ready to mail (lol). For everyone else, please know that I'm packing and shipping with all possible speed. I AM a one man show but promise to get everyone's books to them as quickly as possible. Forty packages have been sent out in the last two days and more will be mailed this weekend. |

Not intended to be a poke at Farthest Reaches. I was just excited to discover I had accidentally bought a signed book! It was not marked as signed and was on a back shelf tucked in with a variety of older space related books. The guy next to me on the plane thought I was a complete geek when I opened it realized it! |

Didn't consider it a poke at all but since you took the time to post, thought it would be nice to put your books in hand. You'll have them in the next few days... Enjoy!! |

I've had many more strange reactions about my choice of reading material when I'm on a plane from my seat mate(s) than I can remember. Since I get bored on planes very easily, and I have done my fair share of east coast to west coast trips, I usually read something I enjoy - which, 9 times out of 10, is some obscure space book. My next planned trip actually is going to be the audio book "Packing for Mars". There was also the 22 CD version of "All American Boys" that was on my [then] iPod, which covered a couple of long trips and several short ones. No comments on those since no one knows what you're listening too - except when you let out the occasional giggle. Too bad Al's book isn't available as an audio book. I think his voice, telling the stories, would make an excellent download. Whoever voiced "Schirra's Space" ruined it just by not being Wally. Cernan did a great job with "Last Man on the Moon", too. Maybe Al needs some encouragement after his book tour. |

I'm glad you brought this up... I too enjoy listening to audio books that are read by the astronauts themselves. Listening to John Glenn's book is almost like sitting on the porch with him while he tells his story. Same for Gene Cernan and Walt Cunningham. If Al's book doesn't get picked up by an audio book distributor, I would certainly buy it as an audio download — I'm sure many others would as well. |

Steve runs a mighty fine -one-man operation, but I hope he has a chance to take a few deep breaths and have a coffee before he then tackles wrapping and sending out dozens of copies of the "Selecting the Mercury Seven" books with those multi-signed inserts after he and I sit down for a mass signing of the 300 books on 1 November. It certainly pays to be patient, but in the end you wind up with a quality product, that's for sure. |
