Kirsten, you can be at the end of the chain if you'd prefer. I have lots of bits and pieces to put in and don't expect to be taking a lot out so I'm happy to be first in the chain after Jacques. If you agree then Jacques can send it to me first and I'll send it on to the UK... |

Will it be performing a slinghot manoeuvre around the Paris ting road to put it on course for the UK? |

If the EGBII has to go around the Paris ring road (peripherique) it won't reach the UK before Christmas. Can I suggest that those of you on the flightpath try to pass on your postal address now to the person that's going to be sending the bag to you? |

It's never too late to join! I think you can go in straight after Ken, and just before ApolloAlex. As it happens, the EGBII landed this morning in Paris after a journey of approximately 455km. I haven't had time to begin the payload analysis and reloading phase yet. At first glance the capsule appears to have survived the reentry phase, and the loving care of the Dutch and French postal systems, intact. I expect to have it turned around ready to launch on Monday for its parabolic flight across the Channel to Old Blighty. |

The EGBII is off on its way to Old Blighty. The payload has been upgraded with the following: A couple of original Gemini press release photos, some vintage NASA lithos (Apollo era), NASA issue shuttle glossies, some high quality modern prints of Apollo images, a few Apollo 17 covers, lots of patches (including a couple of Lion Brothers Apollo patches with minor flaws), some decals, and a nice vintage booklet from the Smithsonian. A word of advice for those on the flightpath: Do try to put in stuff as good as you take out, and remember that vintage stuff from the Mercury-Gemini-Apollo era is much more valued by most collectors than stuff from later eras. |

The grab bag has landed in the UK.I've taken out about 12 or so Shuttle crew lithos and about half a dozen other prints. I've put in a cover signed by Frank Borman and another by Leonov. If also added a few other signed shuttle lithos; Eileen Collins, Rex Walheim & Steve Maclean and a couple of other unsigned astronaut lithos. Chris has suggested a slight course correction so the Grab bag is going on to David next and to Apollo Alex after that. List as far as I am aware is as follows: David Worrow, England ApolloAlex, England spaceman, England Steve Procter, England machbusterman, Scotland Cameron Stark, Scotland poofacio (David) England Frederic Janik, Finland eurospace, Germany Harald Kraenzel, Germany Kirsten, Netherlands Jacques van Oene, Netherlands Grab bag will be departing shortly once it has been refuelled

Wow indeed! Looks like the EGBII has been seriously upgraded by David.Remember folks - try to give as good as you get. Don't take out a Bill Anders signed photo and replace it with a signed inkjet print of unflown ESA astronaut hopeful Ebeneezer Humperdink III... |

EGB made a safe re-entry into the Dunfermline atmosphere today.I've not had a chance to have a good look at all the items yet but will do during the course of the week. It should be on its way to Cameron Stark either next Saturday or the Saturday after... depending on when I can negotiate a day off work!! I'm not sure what I'll be putting in it yet but one item I do know will be an uninscribed Buzz Aldrin 8x6 photograph. I'll give a fuller report as and when I am finished with the box. |
