On behalf of the New Jersey Aviation Hall of Fame, we have 25 hand signed WSS portraits of Skylab Astronaut Bill Pogue to sell at just $10 each as a 100% fundraiser for the non-profit Museum. More information on the museum can be seen at: http://www.njahof.org/pages/1/index.htm Col. Pogue was nice enough to take the time to sign and donate 25 of his KSC Astronaut Experience WSS portraits to the Museum (of which I have been doing some volunteer work) to sell. These photos are 8x10 in size and are full color. The image is of Col. Pogue in his WSS pose holding a Skylab model. The versa of the photo lists Col. Pogue's full biography. These photos are only $10 each. Priced to sell- not for profit! Feel free to write me at jables97@aol.com I am accepting paypal payment to my email address for a total of $11 (with $1 shipping charge) for each photo. On behlaf of the Museum, thank you for your support. Jay [This message has been edited by collectSPACE Admin (edited February 25, 2006).] |

why is KSC printing their name on the front of the photo? Doesn't present the photo as a authentic litho. It says this is a tourist copy photo |

Dennis- Glad to hear that they arrived alright. Thanks again.lunarrv15- I am not sure I understand your question, but the KSC logo is on the front because that is who prints these. Jay |

I believe (and could be wrong) that the Kennedy Space Center logo on the front is generally when the astronauts appear at "Meet an Astronaut" at the Center. The Center has photos printed up for those astronauts that choose to sign autographs during the event. I'm sure that these were left over from that event. I have another Pogue autograph and the ones Jay sent are authentic.CDDFSPACE |

To clarify what Dennis said as it is only partially true...I believe these are also primarily used at the Dine with an Astronaut event at the KSCVC. Col. Pogue volunteered the time to sign the stack of photos gratis, as the DPN was nice enough to donate the photos also at no cost. As of now, there are about 8 left with 4 being held for people sending M.O.'s. Thanks- Jay [This message has been edited by 4allmankind (edited March 05, 2006).] |

what I was attempting to express was why KSC print the name on the front? why not on the back.I think seeing the name on the front of the photo does not present the photo as authentic NASA issue. To me it says, tourist photo. |

lunarrv15- You have to remember that the DPN runs the KSCVC, not NASA where the Astronaut Encounter and Dine with an Astronaut takes place. We are thankful to Col. Pogue and the DPN for giving these photos to the Museum totally free of cost- including postage. What doesit matter whether the KSC logo is on the front? We were pleased that they even were willing to donate them to us. I am not sure why you now feel the need to discredit the sale of the photos in this thread which exists in a fundraising capacity. Its easy why - these are not NASA lithos, and Jay never presented them as such. These are in fact, the ones issued at the KSC "Dine with an Astronaut" luncheon, printed up by Delaware North who runs the Visitiors Center at KSC as he indicated. Tourist photo? Some may see it as that, and in a way that's what they are as it's a souvenier of an experience of meeting an astronaut and hearing his luncheon talk. But for what Jay is doing - a noble cause - it's a good deal. And gracious of Delaware North in donating them, as much as Bill Pogue's graciousness in taking the time to sign them and donate them. It's a fundraiser for an outstanding cause. Not a signed "S numbered" NASA glossy of Neil Armstrong on the Moon. |
