The Deke Slayton Museum in Sparta, Wisconsin, is hosting a virtual conversation with Vance Brand from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. CST on Jan. 27, 2024 as part of their Sharing Space With Deke series of talks.

Viewing is available at the museum or online. Tickets are $10.

Hired by Deke Slayton in 1966, Brand's first space flight was as Command Module Pilot on the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project mission in 1975 along with crewmates Deke Slayton and Tom Stafford. Brand went on to be Commander of three space shuttle flights in 1982, 1984, and 1990. Brand left the astronaut office in 1992, but continued to work for NASA until his retirement in 2008.
