Ken tells me around 50 people have ordered tickets for the Cernan event in April but have yet to send payment. This is the hottest ticket in town right now so please, settle up asap. Ken has a queue of people as long as your arm waiting to snap up any unfulfilled orders and he can't afford to wait for payment indefinitely. Thank you! |

Some folk requested tickets from Ken Willoughby for Cernan before the name was announced. They have since presumed that the event is Sold Out and that they somehow missed out.In reality they have been allocated tickets and payment is now required. If any cS member falls in to this group please e-mail Ken again to verify... and then settle up. Thank you. |

64 people have requested tickets for the Cernan event in April but as yet have not paid for those tickets. If any of those folks are forum members please settle up quickly as Ken is about to release those tickets. |

We passed another major milestone in the efforts to bring Capt. Cernan to Pontefract in April with the payment yesterday of a his fee. This is against the background of a falling pound and a small number of tickets not yet paid for. As a consequence, anybody who has not paid Ken in full for their Cernan tickets by January 31st will find their ticket back up for sale. You have been warned. April will be here before we know it! |

I don't think it would be practical to screen the movie at the Cernan event in April. Mark Stewart Productions has been VERY supportive of Space Lectures and they are I think providing a trailer for the movie by way of an intro to the lecture but that will be as far as it goes unfortunately. |

Thanks Rick! I was gutted I missed it when it screened last year in Dublin at the Jameson Film Festival. Hopefully the DVD release date will be announced soon. On another note, what hotels are people staying in? I was late booking mine last October and ended up paying the big bucks, and as I'll be staying two nights in April I don't want to get caught out again! |

Here pussy pussy! Who let the cat out the bag? We were going to launch the new website officially on Friday but what the heck.Yes, the new website is live. A huge thank you to Joel and Mike from Glassmountains for all they hard work and patience. If they had a pound for every e-mail, photo or suggestion sent from Mrs OWL or myself over the last couple of months they would have no need of a forged lottery ticket. Thanks guys for all your hard work and thanks particularly to Mrs OWL for all her "yoda moments" courtesy no doubt of OWL himself. I just hope Ken likes it. |

Or about 1464 hours. (Based on a base time of when the Welsh who can't swim take on those who can.)One small point about the new site Rick - nowhere can be found the timing for the day as was available on the old site. This makes it difficult for those aged like myself with a failing memory to remember whether one has time for a liquid lunch or not. |

You have a valid point Eddie. We will address that on the site but in the mean time here is some detail. I think we will be sticking pretty closely to these timings.Friday 8th April: Evening Dinner and Auction Wentbridge House Hotel - Photo Shoot 18.00 – 18-45
- Dinner 19.00 – 21.00
- Auction and autograph session
Saturday 9th April: Lecture Carleton Community High School 'The Infinity Theatre' - Photo Shoot 14.30 – 15.45
- Captain Cernan's Lecture 16.00 – 17.00
- Auction (one item only)
- Q&A session, approx 20 minutes
- Autograph session
The auction on Saturday will take place following the lecture but before the Q&A while Capt. Cernan has a brief comfort break. As per the Lovell event it will be for just one choice framed piece |

Looking ahead to April, I have two bits of advice for those getting official photos with Capt. Cernan. - Please do not wear green. It can play havoc with the green screen backdrop imagery. If you are wearing a green sweater you may just find your head floating above the lunar landscape with your hands and lower torso elsewhere!
- Photos with Capt. Cernan are £30 per photo (not per person - you can have as many in the photo as you like for the £30!). Please have the correct money ready as it will make things a whole lot smoother on the day.
Thanks in advance. |

For those who may not have seen it already, we have added a video of the Jim Lovell and Prof Brian Cox Q&A to the new Space Lectures website. We hope to do something similar for Capt. Cernan in April. |

Recent events have seen us use green-screen photo-shoot imagery provided by cS members following an impromptu competition. This is something we hope to continue going forward but for the Cernan event in April the backdrop will be kept "in-house". We are just not confident that there will be the flexibility to sign "extra" photos for any prospective design winner and I for one don't want to make a promise that can't be kept. That said, the backdrop photo we have settled on for April looks excellent and Ken would like to thank gareth89, James (fom Proffoto) and Mrs OWL in particular for a terrific collaborative effort. |

It gives Ken Willoughby great pleasure to confirm that an Apollo moon rock will be attending this years Space Lectures events with Gene Cernan. On the Friday night we can now dine with the moon as well as an Apollo astronaut, and the moon rock will also be at the lecture event. The samples will be displayed in a tower showcase. Wow. Posh nosh with a side portion of moon rock. Anybody want seconds? |

Another reminder from Ken. "Can you ask all the ones who have put their names down for October to send money when they can please?"If you have not sent Ken your payment for October yet, it makes sense to do so now and then you can collect your tickets at the Cernan event saving of postage and packing. |

Less than 3 weeks to go until Capt. Cernan lands in Pontefract and we are all set for what promises to be our best event yet!Unfortunately, Professor Brian Cox will not be joining us. Brian is currently finishing his latest BBC tv series… but filming is behind schedule and he has to fly to the US for 4 weeks to “meet contractual obligations”. It may come as no surprise to know that Prof Cox and his wife Gia are huge “Apollo nuts”. Both caught the "Space Lectures Bug" during the Jim Lovell event in October last and were looking forward to meeting Capt. Cernan. To say they are disappointed would be an under statement. Brian tried to rejig the schedule to create a break in filming long enough for him to fly home for a couple of days… but it was simply not feasible. It is worth mentioning that Professor Cox planned on being at the Cernan event as a paying customer; he was not "signed up" to anything or contractually bound to Space Lectures in any way. He is however with the BBC. And it should be noted the event next month sold out before we even announced Brian's presence. Naturally we are disappointed that Brian will not be with us, but the event next month promises to be superb. We will still be conducting the post lecture Q&A and Space Lectures would like to thank Professor Cox for his continued support; support that we both hope and expect will bring him to one or more of our events in the future.

I doubt very much that anyone will be selling their tickets but just in case anyone finds that they are unable to make the Saturday night lecture, please do let me know as I am on the lookout for two tickets for two friends that I would like to introduce to "our world." Gosh this makes it sound like a cult. |
