I am very pleased to announce that Apollo EECOM, Sy Liebergot is visiting the UK in June! Is this a rare chance to meet and talk to Sy in the UK about his time at NASA, the Apollo program, Skylab, ASTP and much much more. Please don't miss this opportunity. Sy will be delivering his lecture Apollo 13; The Longest Hour, talking about his role in the Apollo 13 crisis, how he made the call that ended the mission to the Lunar surface and what it was like to be a Mission Controller during this critical time. On Friday June 27th Sy will be in Runcorn, Chesire a lecture and signing with The Knowledge Observatory. Full information and tickets are available here. On Saturday June 28th, join us at Something Astronomical, Sheffield for a full day of events, with a guest of honour lunch with extended Q and A, photo opportunities, autograph signings and of course Sy's main lecture. Full info and tickets available here. I sincerely hope you can attend these events and help support space events in the UK. I will try and answer any questions in a prompt manor, but please bare with me if my response takes a little time. |

Nice to see a show local to Merseyside. Cannot let this opportunity pass me by...Is the event dependent on ticket sales? Been to many events and the presentations are always the highpoint. Thanks. |

It is as dependent on ticket sales as any other event, but this has a lot of people behind it and a lot of support, so I wouldn't worry. Tickets went on sale yesterday and we have had a very good response already. It will be a great event, don't miss it. |

Sy, Julie and I are looking forward to meeting up with you again.we have visited Nigel today and he is really excited about your visit. There will be plenty of familiar faces there and I am sure there will be plenty of new ones too. Let's all rally round Nigel and Sy and show them our full support. Sy's previous speech in the UK was hugely informative and delivered with both emotion and passion. |

Only a few weeks until Sy Liebergot's UK visit! If you haven't booked yet for either event please do soon, the interest has been incredible and tickets are getting low for both events. And remember there is a great book signing and Photo offer at Runcorn. And at Something Astro in Sheffield there will be an autograph signing after the lecture, bring your own memorabilia or buy one of the limited edition prints we'll have on offer. There will be an Auction of some great items at Sheffield as well, including some signed just for this event from mission control legends! Some would also be great signed by Fred Haise in October! Plus shops, displays, raffle and some great one offs, this will be a really great event and please help support it by coming along. Thanks all. |

If you are hanging on for Sy Liebergot's visit — the clock is ticking. Less than 10 tickets remain for Runcorn. Less than 15 for Sheffield with only three remaining All Day Passes. Book now to avoid disappointment. |

Just back from the Runcorn event, closest one ever just a few miles up the road (30 minutes). Nice to meet Richard Garner, and a few other cS readers, especially Craig thanks for helping me with the book! I owe you one! Great event, well organised, and sold out. The Knowledge Observatory put on a great show, refreshments and memorabilia for sale. Nice to see Phill Parker with some really nice Apollo era rare goodies to look at. Representatives from the JMU University doesn't get much better really. Fantastic presentation from Sy Liebergot, really enjoyed hearing what it was like in Houston Control Centre during the Apollo program. Good to hear Sy's anecdotes, and get a real feel for the Apollo 13 accident and the decision making processes from a key player. All in all a great night — nice to meet Nigel McEnaney, who kindly took some photographs of me with Sy. Brilliant presentation the profits of which are going to help the educationally disadvantaged children in the local area through the medium of astronomy! Great night, glad I went and good luck to Nigel in Sheffield tomorrow. Hope that it is as successful as tonight! |

Thank you all so much for coming to Sheffield and Runcorn for Sy Liebergot's UK visit. Sy was a trooper and was truly excellent to work with, never complained once and never seemed to be tired, I was exhausted after day one! It really means a lot that the events were so well supported and I hope people will return for future events - Guest suggestions will be welcomed! Again, thank you all so much, any feedback you have will be welcomed. We are looking forward to lots more great events!

It was great to see you too, I for one had a fantastic time both in Runcorn and Nottingham. I enjoyed the trip to Nottingham after Runcorn by playing chauffeur to Sy more so an hour and a half of hearing his pearls of wisdom. A wonderful man! |
