The great opportunity to meet with many European fans but, I hope, our American friends, Canadians, Australians, etc... See you in April! |

Just a note for those organizing this event, I saw TK at a lecture at an industry event in Detroit two years ago. After his presentation he obliged and posed for photos for the dozen of us that were interested in meeting him. However, he politely declined to sign any items that we had brought (six to seven of us had a few items). So hopefully it is arranged in advance with TK about signing at your event. Have fun and enjoy a rare opportunity to see and meet TK! |

I suspect the event in Detroit referred to had been arranged as a lecture and nothing more.Ken Willoughby has been very specific about signings in discussions and emails with Mattingly's agent; Ken has had repeated assurances that the signing is NOT an issue and this has been reflected in the resulting contract. The post dinner and post lecture signings are an integral part of this whole event and have been covered a number of times and in detail. Had the signings been an issue Ken Willoughby would not have booked Ken Mattingly; too many Kens!

I trust the following message from Ken Mattingly's agent will satisfy any doubters re autographs at the forthcoming April event in Pontefract. Ken, this email is to confirm that TK will sign autographs at both the dinner event on Friday, and at the public event on Saturday. He will sign photos or other memorabilia that guests bring. One autograph per person, and he will only sign his name. All autographs will be free. |

Just clarifying - that rules out the possibility of getting an item personalized? Not complaining at all, just to clarify. |

I think so Shane. Given Ken Mattingly's well documented propensity for signing little or nothing at public appearances (as per a previous post) I think Ken Willoughby has done remarkably well in securing such a generous assurance from TKM and his agent.I think also, the sheer logistics of giving everybody a dedicated and personalized signature after the lecture... as nice as it might be... would be an abuse of that generosity. The latest on the dinner: Two or three tickets remain. Two if Mrs. Mattingly attends, three if she does not. That has yet to be determined. Ken Willoughby plans on posting out tickets next week all being well. |

Ken has confirmed the professional photos with Ken Mattingly will be £20 each and the photographers are bringing TWO printers as opposed to just the one used for the Alan Bean event; to speed up the process. |

Do you think that will be per photo, or per person, I'd like one with my son. |

£20 per photo. Personally I don't agree with charging by the person but each event to their own. Ken is keen to encourage youngsters so by all means include your son in the photo; hec, bring your wife as well! It will still only be £20 for a family photo. A message from Ken re tickets; "All tickets posted except to those who didn't enclose SAE!" Those number approximately 50. I guess those folks will either need to send Ken a SAE, or turn up with ID to verify their ticket purchase at the door. |

Tickets for the lecture are still selling well so I urge people who may be sitting on the fence to send in their cheques with their stamped addressed envelopes promptly. We have never sold out the dinner this early before and because this is a one off event in the UK you need to act now to avoid disappointment. |

Very wise words from OWL. What else would you get? I am urging colleagues at work and elsewhere to make their minds up as the seats disappear. Really looking forward to this event as this one certainly has a different feel about it. |

I have been sharing with CRASH some of the classic Ken Mattingly images that would make good pieces for signing. But I'd be interested to hear what others intend taking; the more interesting and different the better... including body parts! |

I'm stuck between a photo of the Apollo 16 launch or CSM Casper in lunar orbit or Ken Mattingly's deep space EVA or the shuttle Columbia landing at Edwards STS-4.Decisions, decisions. |

Ken has had a number of e-mails from people who cannot remember whether or not they sent a SAE with their ticket order. The solution; either post SAE to Ken or collect your tickets on the door but you will require ID. |

I'd guess that if you haven't received your ticket/s yet then you didn't send a SAE? |

Elementary my dear Tykeanaut! Might be worth dropping Ken an e-mail to verify that is the case. The body parts refers to the arm that Alan Bean signed which was subsequently tattood. |

What am I bringing for signing? It will be my rather ancient nearly forty year old copy of the 1975 edition of 'Manned Spaceflight'. Of the 200 plus copies printed for distribution by the US Information Service at the London Embassy, I know of only two copies still surviving. (Unless you know better that is!) |

It has been years since T.K. Mattingly signed autographs on this side of the pond. I have an Apollo 16 launch cover which John Young and Charlie Duke signed for me. I have despaired of ever completing it. Is there anyone going to the dinner who would get it signed in exchange for a cash fee? Please e-mail me. |
