Ken W informed me that Ken M may say a few words before the dinner but no talk or anything as there is also the auction to fit in that night. |

The notion of somebody who is unable to attend, buying a ticket for somebody else in order to get their items signed is a perfectly sensible way around the issue. I am sure, there will be families or couples who are not SO interested that they MUST each have a signed item. And I can think of several collectSPACE regulars who typically attend these events without their respective partners. Such an arrangement would be conducive to a nice "romantic" night out at the same time helping out a fellow cS member. As per the dinner, the guests usually speak before sitting down to eat but this is typically kept short; Al Bean was around 5 minutes, Al Worden approximately 10. I am certain Ken Mattingly will be asked to say a few words but ultimately the number will be down to him. It is worth mentioning that the pre-dinner photo shoot is a far more relaxed affair than that at the lecture. You will have the time to speak to TKM and ask a few questions. The numbers attending the lecture mean the photo shoot at the school is a bit of a conveyor process... out of necessity. |

I am offering to pay the cost of both the lecture and the dinner events (combo ticket) if someone can obtain just one Mattingly autograph for me. Please contact me off-site. Thanks. |

Two questions: - Any places/ideas for cheap and suitable accommodation in the area for the weekend? (B&B, hostel, anything really!)
- What is the public transport like between the event venues and Leeds-Bradford International Airport?
You can tell I'm a Ken Willoughby-event virgin... |

Hi Shane, be great if you can make the event. There are some Travelodges around and about but this could be difficult if you are not driving. I'm not sure about the public transport, why not give them a 'call?Or, rent a car for a couple of days and do some sight-seeing too! |

And a Premier Inn close by for £29 per night. |

Premier Inn South I think is best placed. Don't know about public transport but a taxi will cost around £8.50 each way too and from The Wentbridge.I usually travel to the event from the Premier Inn in a cab with CRASH. I am sure we can squeeze in another and it will help keep the cost to a minimum. At the risk of sounding like Lenny Henry, the Premier Inn South may not be the most luxurious hotel but we have always found it clean and comfortable with a good brekkie and friendly staff. CRASH and I have stayed there several times... in seperate rooms!! "I was never confused." |

Thought you were more of a "YMCA" man, Rick! I'll be slumming it at Premier Inn with the Cowboy, as there are no 5* nearby. |

Gosh! That is posh! You'll be telling us next that they're so modern they even have a space to stable the horse. |

Oh yes Eddie. In common with a recent English custom, the horses are kept in your nearest Fray Bentos steak and kidney pie! |

Nuts! You think we're all nuts? Great heavens man, you'll be wanting to declare independence and form your own country next. On edit - might I refer you to 'The Song of Patriotic Predudice' by Flanders and Swan. To paraphrase from this - of course the flower of the English are Rick, Chris and me. |

Tickets continue to sell well for the lecture and only 20 tickets now remain for the dinner; there are bound to be orders caught in the festive mail log jam.Don't leave it too late folks. |

Having met up with Ken between Christmas and the new year, I would like to reiterate what Rick has said. Tickets are selling at the quickest rate of any Space Lecture event. We are receiving applications from both Europe and America along with many new applications from the UK via Space Lectures Twitter. The dinner is well on the way to being sold out and the lecture is selling very well. Due to the fire regulations at the lecture,we will only have a limited supply of tickets. To avoid disappointment please get cheques posted ASAP (complete with stamped addressed envelope). |

Question, I have an STS-4 postal cover and an original 8x10 Apollo 16 NASA crew photo. Is it better to have these signed or a glossy copy of Ken Mattingly on his own? |

Chris - you could always have Ken autograph your 'Command Module' and then take her to a tattoo parlour to have it made permanent.

At the risk of sounding mercenary, I would personally plump for the glossy of TKM on his own. I suspect that would be commercially more valuable... though I have to confess postal covers are not an area that interests me.When adding anything to my collection these days I always have at the back of my mind the consideration "What would be of value to my wife and kids?" should I make a sound like a frog: croak! In this instance I think the solo glossy would give you the better return in the long run. |

I cannot wait for April! These events in pontefract are brilliant. I never, ever thought I would get chance to meet these people and get time to talk to them! I cannot thank Ken and Space Lectures enough for giving me and my grandkids this opportunity. I wonder who will be next? |

Ken has advised me that people are contacting him and asking for tickets to be held, allowing time for payment to be sent. Weeks later and promised payments have failed to materialize. Please be advised that such is the demand to meet TKM that Ken is unable to hold tickets under such circumstances. Tickets are available on a strictly first come first served basis. |

In an effort to get the photos — professionally taken prior to the lecture — out in time for the signing, the photo shoots will start at 2.30pm prompt. |

Rick, I can't thank you enough for posting that Apollo 16 video with James Burke. I have been trying for years to find video of BBC Apollo coverage. I have managed to get audio tapes but this, the actual satellite feed to London is breathtaking. The last time I saw this I was 12. I now am going to have to have a large single Malt to recover! Looking forward to meeting TK Matingly. |

Look forward to meeting you Shane. But don't forget to apply to Tykeanaut (Chris) for your visa to enter Yorkshire. On edit - and if you're staying at the Premier Inn along with the Mulheirn crew you might also need to buy a basic guide to the noble art of Ecky Thump. |
