I hadn't had the opportunity to meet shuttle astronaut Woody Spring until we (the San Diego Air and Space Museum) hosted him this weekend, which is always interesting when you are organizing a thousand-person space day event around him. Will he be a good speaker? Friendly to the public?I needn't have worried. Spring gave one of the best shuttle talks I have heard, especially a vivid and humorous account of the construction EVA he did. I understood what they did on that mission in a way I never had before. He's a great speaker. He then spent a lot of time chatting to families and college students who came, and signing autographs. Thanks to the collectSPACErs who are members of organizations who exhibited and provided great interactive opportunities for the families who came! | |
