The Space Topic Study Group otherwise known as the Space Unit will hold its national meeting on June 4, 2011 at the NAPEX 2011 Stamp Exhibition. The show is being held at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, Va. The time of meeting is 10 a.m. in the Fairfax Room.
The guest speaker will be Captain Joseph Guion USN (Ret). He was the Commanding Officer of the USS Kiowa (ATF-72), which recovered Able and Baker after their flights.
David Ball author of American Astrophilately will also give a presentation.
A tour of the space exhibits by Ray Cartier with the exhibitors present to answer questions from attendees will take place after the meeting.
A barbeque and trade session will be held at the home of SU member Woody Witt who lives a short distance from the show.
