Space Collectibles Show Set For Jan. 26The U.S. Air Force Space & Missile Museum Foundation is hosting a "Space Collectibles Show and Sale," on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in honor of the 50th anniversary of America's first successful satellite launch. Explorer 1 was sent into orbit from Cape Canaveral on Jan. 31, 1958.
Patches, pins and T-shirts commemorating the anniversary will be on sale, while local collectors and merchants will display their historic space memorabilia and artifacts for bartering and trading, or just to be admired.
The family-friendly event is open to the public with free admission and will take place at Travis Park Community Center, 2001 Michigan Avenue, next to the BCC Cocoa Campus and Florida Solar Energy Center.
A limited number of tables are still available to commercial businesses and private individuals interested in displaying their space-related merchandise and collectibles. Table costs are extremely reasonable and are the only expenses involved. Donations to the Museum Foundation are welcome.
For more information about signing up as a vendor, please call the museum at 321-853-9171.
