Per John Charles' comment, I agree that there are more serious physiological obstacles to space flight than this fainting episode. For one, I find it totally incredible that rookie astronauts and cosmonauts are sent up to ISS for long duration stays without 100% knowing what their reaction will be to weightlessness/free fall.
