I would highly reccommend attending anything that Brian Duffy does. He is a great guy, well spoken, and has some good stories! |

I am hoping to attend also (I live about a mile away from the venue), however my partner is not too keen.

I work at the Space Centre and we are expecting to be extremely busy during the day. There are still some tickets available for the evening event, but it's proving popular. After all, it's not every day you get to have dinner with an astronaut!

As Brian Duffy will be at Farnborough Air Show the 21st, I decided to meet him there and not join the dinner. Bad luck ... All the best, Kirsten

See you all there.Ps Anyone unfamiliar with the area, not only is the space centre the most distinctive building in Leicester (thtas notb too difficult!), but an enormous effort has been given to erecting signs for it everywhere. You will be singposted from all major routes direct to the centre. This is a great system, not being a native here, and living close to the centre I use these signs as my primary navigation aid whenever I move around the area! |

Hi, just got back from the Brian Duffy lunch time slot. Nice astro I think he could have talked all day and would have signed all day too but other commitments within the centre prevented him from doing so. Looking forward to greater insights with him this evening at the Dine with an Astronaut Experience, Nick Spaceman. |

just to second what Nick said really, The afternoon talk by Brian Duffy was very well produced. A charming and entertaining guy who could have kept us happy for hours but time did not allow. Not overcrowded so could get anything signed although he did provide printed photos with what appeared to be a printed autograph on and a crew patch for everyone who wanted one. Nice to see the usual faces such as Nick and Ollie and Rob i am very sorry you could not make it.... Hope everyone going enjoys the experience tonight i am sure they will. Thank you Brian Duffy and well done to the space centre nice to see some real astrronauts there for a change. |

Hi, just returned from the 'Dine with an astronaut experience' at the space center. A very enjoyable evening;drinks on arrival, with Brian and his lovely wife mingling and taking the time to work their way around all of the guests.A screening of the new dome show 'Astronauts'(excellent homemade production), followed by Brians talk and slide presentation, which followed along the lines of his earlier talk, very good. Onto the meal, Brian again visiting each table and making/inviting conversation from everyone.A charity draw, auction and signing/photo opportunity. Many thanks to Brian and Jan Duffy, the very helpful staff at the space centre and everyone that attended. Have put a face to astronaut_jukebox (nice) responsible for starting this thread. The usual suspects attended including Rob Wood and Ollie (Ollie won some nice autographed items in the draw), and Padleader earlier in the day. I'm starting to doze a little now, the hot cocoa is calling, its an age thing Nick spaceman. |

Very much enjoyed this event. It was sufficiently low key to allow everyone to have a real chance to meet Brian Duffy, and he went to great lengths to facilitate this. Photographs from space, inspiring on their own are even better when they are explained by someone who can give first hand insights into what they contain. Brian Duffy was simply superb, friendly, generous with his time and I know I was not alone in being genuinely thrilled with meeting him.Well done to everyone involved, a great success.
