Hello Collectors ! Great CollectSpace article on the difficulties encountered during Space auctions held by Superior Galleries ! I bought some items and was amazed to see; 1. They don NOT except credit cards but want an advance - downpayment if You bid for an item ... 2. The items (in my case NASA SP books)were send in a simple USA Postal cardboard envelope without any extra protection against rain or postal handling ... The catalogs are send in the same way and when these arrive in Europe, the package is completely torn (I have to remark I got one free after complaining !) Other things I would like to remark; 1. The Fall 2000 catalog had about 25 pages missing but another section was twice in the catalog ! 2. Sometimes the description of an item (e.g. crewphoto) is totally wrong ... Some positive remarks to end; 1. Good & friendly communication by e-mail and by telephone ! 2. Extra (FREE) catalog if one arrived damaged - I also buy two copies, one to collect another to use ... 3. The fact Superior continues these auctions! Does anyone has simular remarks ? What's Your opinion on Superior ? Thanks in advance ![This message has been edited by Philip (edited February 16, 2001).] |

Superior is obviously doing some efforts for the upcoming May 2001 Space auction ... Does anybody know if their catalog for this auction is on glossy paper or on normal paper as the Fall 2000 catalog ? Superior should be aware that some (most ?) collectors buy the catalogs as references ... some of those old catalogs turn up at ebay regularly ... Curious to see if they learned something on this subject ? Great items though this time ( magical 2001 ) ...[This message has been edited by Philip (edited February 28, 2001).] Contacted Superior ... the Spring catalog will be on normal thin paper as the Fall 2000 one ... [This message has been edited by Philip (edited March 07, 2001).] Thursday 12 th April ... 3 weeks to go ... it's about time that online bidding becomes available ?!
