Sometime around 2021 I purchased a First Day Cover for the First Man on the Moon stamp sent from Florida to an address in Buxton Derbyshire. I was an avid collector of local postal history for my home town of Buxton in the UK. But something blossomed from that purchase, I was intrigued by the moon landing cachet and how it outshined all my other (fascinating but) dreary Buxton local postal history covers. It sparked an obsession. And three years exactly to this day, I purchased my very first deliberately bought Astrophilately cover. Since then I have been overwhelmed by the space collectors' community, and I'd like to say thank you for the welcome. Amongst those who I have never met, but consider friends are: - George Morrison
- Anthony DeMola
- Jacky Pawlowski
- Walter Hopferweisser
...and others who have been exceedingly good to me are, - Ken Havekotte
- Antoni Rigo
- Gary Toth
- Simon Cronk
- Robert Pearlman
- Bob Mcleod
- Dennis Dillman
- Tom Steiner
- Florian Noller
- Charlie Hamilton
- Marc Bedrin
- Charles Vukotich
Thank you, without you the journey would have been sub-orbital. Ad Astra. |

Welcome to the club! But I would have never guessed you've only been collecting for 3 years reading your posts. I hope there are more new collectors like you... |

Thank you, Alan. We admire your space and space collecting enthusiasm and dedication, which isn't as common as it was back in earlier days. Many earlier collectors have moved on in various ways and our beloved hobby needs more enthusiastic collectors to be involved and active. |

I'll certainly echo what Dennis, Bob, and Garry posted above Alan as your deep enthusiasm, direct participation, and support for our astrophilately forum is much appreciated. Of all the hundreds(+) of space fans that view cS on at least a weekly basis, it still amazes me that we don't have more space collectors as yourself joining in. You are indeed my friend a needed and valuable asset to us all. |

Thanks Alan. And thanks to you too, for your enthusiasm and for asking/answering/doubting/guessing... Something more valuable that philatelic material is sharing knowledge. And cS offers this and much more. |
