I see that in the cover pics kindly shown by Ken Havekotte that the First day of use handstamp is in blue. The last day of use stamps are all in blue or mauve.
However, I have now seen a cover with a first day of use in red ink. Has anyone got any information about the origins of this one?

Can you post a photo or share a link to the image of the first day with red cachet? This would be interesting to see and help to explain its existenece.

This looks to be a red printed version of the NASA RSC on last day of post office cover.

This particular cover seems to emanate from one supplier - the Red Eagle Stamps Covers & Collectibles store on eBay. The full description includes this:
Offering a cover serviced for Kennedy Space Center, Last Day Postal Service, "Official" KSC rubber stamp cachet (V2), Cancelled Kennedy Space Center FL 26-September-2023.
The blue logo (last day) has an identical description apart from a V1. The purple (last day) is described as V3.
Why the red V2 has "first day" I don't know! Maybe somebody could ask the seller direct?
They seem to be reproductions as opposed to the stated "official".

I checked with the seller, and there is no significance really attached to the red ink colour. The design was chosen to commemorate the stamp used when the KSC Post Office first opened
