Space Cover of the Week, Week 287, October 19, 2014 Space Cover 287: Apollo-Soyuz Test Project anniversaryThis week's covers commemorate the recovery of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) command module and crew on July 24, 1975 by helicopters from the Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron-6. At least four helicopters and their backups were assigned to the recovery. The four helicopters had the task to recover the parachutes, photo document the recovery, deploy divers to secure the command module and relay communications to the prime recovery ship.
