Space Cover #271 – To The Stars Philatelic Exhibition

This week's Space Cover of the Week commemorates the fourth To-the-Stars Philatelic Exhibit in 1965. This was the fourth philatelic exhibit to be hosted by the Moscow Collectors Club (MGOK). This exhibition ran April 9-19, 1965 and was held in the Palace of Culture associated with the A. Likhachev car factory.

The Moscow Zh-68 post office set up a postal booth in the exhibition area to cancel covers. The MGOK designed two unstamped envelopes with artistic cachet commemorating the exhibition. Both covers shown above were cancelled on opening day and closing day of the exhibition confirmed by the Moscow Zh-68 circular date stamp (CDS) on the covers.
