Space Cover #131, Skylab space station

The Space Cover of the Week commemorates the launch of the Skylab space station aboard a two stage Saturn V launch vehicle no. 513 on May 14, 1973. The covers shown have the official NASA rubber stamp cancel (RSC) and are cancelled with a new Kennedy Space Center (KSC) pictorial machine cancel which depicts Skylab.

The covers were autographed by the program managers at the following NASA centers:

• Marshall Space Flight Center, Leland Belew
  
• Johnson Space Center, Ken Kleinknecht
  
• NASA Headquarters, Bill Schneider
  
• Kennedy Space Center, Robert Hock

These covers were the first ones I sent for after starting to collect space covers in 1973.
