I stumbled across this website that announces the Chinese stamps/covers for Shenzhou 6: Stamps marking Wednesday's successful launch of the Shenzhou-6 spacecraft, China's second space flight mission, has been under reservation from the general public.According to the issuer, the Stamp Collection Company of Inner Mongolia, all the post stations and stamp collection chain stores in Inner Mongolia have started accepting reservation of the Shenzhou-6 serial stamp products, which will be delivered to buyers as soon as the re-entry module of the spacecraft returns in a week. The stamp series include 5,000 commemorative envelopes on the successful retrieve of the Shenzhou-6, and 3,000 stamp album and 3,000envelope sets named "Love for Shenzhou". The commemorative envelopes is sold at three yuan (36.6 US cents) each. The "Love for Shenzhou" albums and envelope sets are issued at prices of 90 yuan (11.25 US dollars) each and 20 yuan (2.4 US dollars) each respectively. The album contains a stamp of Shenzhou-5, China's first manned spaceship launched two years ago, a stamp of Yang Liwei, China's first astronaut aboard the Shenzhou-5, a commemorative envelope of Shenzhou-6 and a space postmark used for first time. The "Love for Shenzhou" envelope set includes the commemorative envelope of the successful launch of Shenzhou-5, and the envelopes of the launch, orbiting, telemetrying and retrieve of Shenzhou-6. Unfortunately it does not tell how to reserve copies for those of us outside of China... |

Here is a site that shows some of the stamps. Still no news on how people outside of China can reserve copies. |

If we can use the Shenzhou 5 stamps (and related products) as a model, then eBay will become the primary venue for the SZ-6 stamps to be offered to the international public. |

Here is the reply I received to how to order the Shenzhou 6 stamps and covers: Thanks for email us. As to your question, we just consulted the staff in post office. They said there is no openly sale of the stamp and such kind of stamps should be ordered first. |

My reply was this: Thanks for your greetings. As to your question, we just consulted the staff in Post Office. They said there is no openly sale of the stamp, and such kind of stamps should be ordered first. If you are a stamp-collect lover, we suggest you share experiences with other stamp-collect lovers. Thus next time, when you meet such kind of information, you know how to get the stamps. Wish you good luck next time. eBay it is! |

Hmm... there's nothing like a direct-to-the-point answer from the Chinese Postal Service! They certainly aren't in danger of becoming capitalists soon... | |
