In light of latest info (Soyuz MS-23 launching without a crew and landing with the Soyuz MS-22 crew), I wonder if the Soyuz MS-24 crew patch will be the same design as the earlier MS-23 patch? |

According to Roscosmos, the plan as of today is not to cancel (or reassign) any future expedition crews but rather just move each to the right. So the previous crew assigned to Soyuz MS-23 would fly on Soyuz MS-24.What that means for the patch (or if Soyuz MS-23 will even have a patch) is still to be seen. |

This pin was produced for the MS-23 crew but now that MS-23 will go to the ISS without crew as a rescue ship, it is a collector's item: |

The emblem adopts the traditional form of a circle. Its design centers around the illustration of the Soyuz MS-23 uncrewed spacecraft flying toward the International Space Station, which is visible on the right. The Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft is also shown but undocked from the ISS, with Soyuz MS-23 arriving to replace it. Also included are stylized images of Earth, the moon, stars and the Sun, with the latter's rays symbolizing hope. At the bottom of the emblem, on its border, are the name and serial number of the spacecraft Soyuz MS-23. At the top is the logo of Roscosmos. |

When I first saw the patch, I thought the two white bars crossing the outer blue border evoked the image of a life preserver, referencing Soyuz MS-23 being a rescue ship. |

Roscosmos (press group) confirmed me it was their design. They produced only 20 patches but will order more next week.Don't think the patch will be available for collectors. |

Three patches will be prepared by Zvezda plant to put them on the crew spacesuits and will be sent to the ISS with Progress cargo in August. It is supposed Prokopiev and his crew members will change MS-22 patches now on Sokols against MS-23 landing patches. |

While watching NASA TV this morning, I noticed astronaut Loral O'Hara wearing a polo shirt with the old MS-23 mission patch logo embroidered onto the fabric. Either she didn't have a new (MS-24) shirt available, or the old shirt was the only thing clean and available. |
