Crew-5 includes NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada, JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata and Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina. This is the first patch we have seen thus far to depict the iROSA solar arrays. |

I wonder if they will put crew names in the border of the patch, looks a bit empty at the moment. |

The odds are looking more in favor of Kikina flying SpaceX instead of Roscosmos. I assume that's why the names were omitted on this version with geopolitics currently so fluid. Maybe we will see a version with names eventually. |

I have to ask myself the question as how many were produced in this run, fewer than in the past? They may have sold out quickly but because fewer were made. Does anyone know the quantity they are producing per runs and is it fewer than back in the shuttle era and ISS Expedition patch runs currently? If fewer, then I will have to be quicker to purchase in the future but I am sure other runs will happen. |

Yes, I don't think the first main production run that was made during May with date code 05/22 20 was any less than a normal first run? There are new runs already made to replace the one that just sold out, they are coming in from China and are currently in transit to Weaverville?Unfortunately the numbers that AB Emblem produced in any one production run are not available to be seen in the public domain. Also it could of been down to AB Emblem supplying their main retail outlets first like; The Space Store, Skyforce Space Patches, USAF Space, and the NASA facilities like KSC and JSC visitor centers a few weeks ago ahead of the release? The manned SpaceX crew patches are very popular so sell very quickly and in large numbers when they are officially released. |

The patch was designed before the Russian cosmonaut was assigned to the mission and the trail behind the spacecraft is red, white and blue, the colors of the flag of the United States. I understand that the Russian flag is also red, white and blue but the colors are arranged the way they typically are to represent the U.S. flag. I wonder how the Russian space agency feels about that. |

For my taste the names are not aesthetically well distributed in the image. Adding the Russian flag would be very simple... |

They're barely acknowledging Kikina as it is. A flag would not go over well. |

You'd have to add the Japanese flag, too, if you add the Russian flag. |

Please see here: A fire-breathing, five-shaped dragon propels the Crew Dragon spacecraft of NASA's SpaceX Crew-5 mission beyond the confines of a pentagon’s outline and into low-Earth orbit. As the spacecraft ascends above the Earth’s atmosphere and its crew of courageous explorers embarks on their expedition aboard the International Space Station, the dragon’s fire transitions to the colors of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program representing the unrelenting efforts of the many teams who have met this challenge with unparalleled determination. The sun shines its light on this international team as they bravely pursue. |

I like the design but the font used for the crew names is hard on the eyes, in my opinion. |

I still think that "MANN" should have been written on the bottom edge, as commander and to balance the image. |
