Forty years since the first space shuttle mission: this patch commemorates STS-1. The patch shows Columbia over a depiction of the U.S. flag. Two large stars represent the crew members; four medium ones are for the four missions commander John Young flew on Gemini and Apollo. Six small stars symbolise the years since the previous U.S. human space mission. The blue orbit represents the launch-landing-reuse cycle. The patch measures 105 mm and will be available from Skyforce Space Patches soon. © copyright Lucreation 2021. |
