Perhaps someone can help identify this heavy duty gold bullion patch? It is of a thick woven material and has some black plastic type substance on the back. What shows up as yellow is indeed gold threading amid four shades of blue.

I’ve seen many bullion-thread patches of USAF units and programs on eBay, and all of them are modern souvenir versions of official patches. I would guess this patch has a similar lineage.

So this could be an elaborate but unofficial US Air Force astronaut crew souvenir patch of some sort? There is not one on eBay right now and have never seen anything like it for sale over there or anywhere else for that matter.
