How can I determine the approximate age of my NASA career service recognition pins (10 year, 20 year, etc.)? Most all of mine have "10K" and "Lordship" stamped on the reverse. In addition, one of my 25 year pins is a pinback and the other ones are all screwback. |

I take it these are not pins you earned for your own career (otherwise you would know the years you received yours)?I don't know of a comparative guide throughout the years, but this this document (excerpted below), shows the pins as awarded today. |

I know about my long service awards, but I have a collection of older ones and I am trying to figure out about how old they are. |

Your best resource may be past auctions of the pins, where the consignor provides the years s/he received them. For example, this lot from a 2010 auction includes pins received between 1972 (5 year) and 2002 (35 year), with 10, 25 and 30 Year examples as well. |

I'm not sure about your question of age of older service awards but I have some that I can give their periods. The 5/10/15 year pins are for 1965-70, 1970-75, 1975-80. I also have a gold 25 year pin that is not porcelain but has all of the markings you described (lordship/pinback) and that would be for 1990. |

Any idea as to what the current 20 year (last 15 years or so) ones are made of? |
