There are now seven date codes used/found on these now obsolete, (due to the Soyuz MS-10 abort), AB Emblem Expedition 57 (5 crew names) patches. All have the patch design number 294788 and the A-B Emblem name and "crown" emblem. Three of the seven patches also have "Made In China" under the "A-B Emblem" name on the labels. - 0418 55 (USA) (Sample patch)
- 0518 55 (USA) (Sample patch)
- 5/18 20 (USA) (Crew batch)
- 05/1840 + Made In China
- 7/18 20 (USA)
- 07/1840 + Made In China
- 10/1840 + Made In China (production run cut short)

AB Emblem will be producing a new Expedition 57 patch, but it may be December before it is available, per Joe Fricano at SkyForce Space Patches. |

The latest e-mail message from AB Emblem today is: The new Expedition 57 has been approved, but we will not be stocking it until the astronauts office places their order. |

While watching the NASA coverage of today's launch, they briefly showed the new Expedition 57 patch on the screen that includes today's crew launched successfully to ISS. |

Is there any information when the ISS Expedition 57 patch with six names (Soyuz MS-09 and Soyuz MS-11 crews) will be produced (A-B Emblem/NASA/or)? |

The Expedition 57 six crew names patches are in production right now along with the Expedition 58 three crew names patches. But there is no firm release date for either as yet.All I got from AB Emblem was that once they have supplied the Astronaut Office, NASA and Roscosmos with their orders, then they will release them to their agents first and then to the general public through their website. This will probably be during January or in early February 2019. |

No, the production runs for Expedition 57 three crew name patches have all been cancelled. There were only a few prototype/sample/crew batch patches produced, probably 50 or less?If anyone knows the patch design number and the date code(s) used on the three crew names version patch, could you let me know, or post a back image/photo here? Many thanks. Update 03-01-19: Released today with P/D # 402600 date code(s) unknown at this time. |

Oh, what a bad news. The official NASA photo shows three people and the corresponding logo. Most of the time, the ISS Expedition 57 consisted of three crewmembers. Why should not this logo/patch be available to the public? One should audition at the NASA/A-B Emblem to cause a rethink. The unusual mission from start to finish earned three patches. |

This is one of the reason why I slowly have moved away from patch collecting. They create real rare patches in small batches that will never surface unless you have money and the average collector has a hole in their collections. |

You have got your wish. But this Expedition 57 three crew names version is an obsolete patch, so I think it will be short lived. So get in quick to secure your example(s). |

Here are the ones I received today. It looks like I have a transposed SKU number (406200). It's also notable that it's the larger size format like the earlier versions. |

No I have heard nothing new concerning the new Expedition 57 six crew names patches.Update on 12th February: I have received an e-mail from AB Emblem: If this is the 6-name version that you are referring to, we are working on this one. It was never an official NASA design, so it will be listed as unofficial. That is it, nothing as to the possible release date for this new Expedition 57 six crew name patch. No SKU patch design number, and no date code. Though reading between the lines it looks like it will be 2/19 20 (February 2019 USA)?The question is which of the five versions of the Expedition 57 patches is the official one? |

The Expedition 57 (unofficial) six crew names version patch has finally been released today and put up for sale on the AB Emblem website. The SKU patch design number is 406803, the date code(s) are not yet confirmed (but probably will be 2/19 20).This is a limited edition issue, as it has gone straight onto their "Lost In Space" page. Update 5th March: Now showing "Sold Out". That's just less than 24 hours on sale. |

I've heard nothing official from AB Emblem yet, but I have a feeling we will see a second batch of these unofficial Expedition 57 six crew name patches. Either another batch manufactured at Weaverville, or a batch made in China?I have sent an e-mail to AB Emblem requesting information. If I hear back from them, I will post their reply here. |

I have received a reply e-mail back from AB Emblem concerning the "unofficial" Expedition 57 six crew names patches, 406803 A-B Emblem 2/19 20.All that were produced in February were sold out on 5th March, and no more were planned to be made. But if enough collectors who missed out on the first batch would like to receive one or more of these "unofficial" Expedition 57 patches, then another production run could be made at the end of March. So it is up to you cS members/patch collectors who would like a further production run to be manufactured, to let AB Emblem or me know (by e-mail), how many extra patches would be required? Bearing in mind the minimum production run is for 50 patches. We have a week to decide. |

Well, if AB will make more unofficial patches if there are demands for them, then I ask another production of the first patch with Epps that I missed. |

The first "Epps" version of this Expedition 57 patch was an "official" NASA patch. NASA put a production stop on those patches when Jeanette Epps was replaced by Serena Aunon-Chancellor. So there is no chance of another production run of those Epps patches, unless they are done in error like the Expedition 56 Epps patches 286236 with date code 08/18 01. Sorry John. |

I missed out on both Expedition 57 and 56 Epps patches - if there's a chance that there could be another run of Expedition 56 Epps patches then I am speaking up for it.I am also speaking up for an "unofficial" Expedition 57 patch. |

I can appreciate the desire of collectors who would still like to add the Epps-version patch(es) to their collection, but object to another run being produced. The original sale was of patches left over from before Epps was removed from the flight. It was a choice between selling or discarding them, the latter resulting in AB Emblem having to absorb their production costs. A re-run of the patches though, would be a conscious effort to benefit from Epps' misfortune, both by AB Emblem and by the collectors placing the order. That seems wrong to me. There is also a concern about what separates collecting from hoarding, the inherit challenge of assembling a set, but that is secondary to the above. |
