Aidyn Aimbetov's Soyuz TMA-18M patchesAidyn Aimbetov will be the first member of Kazakhstan's cosmonaut corps to fly in space when he launches with Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Volkov and astronaut Andreas Mogensen with the European Space Agency on board Soyuz TMA-18M to the International Space Station. According to spacepatches.nl, these are the two patches Aimbetov will wear on his Sokol spacesuit during launch. At top is the patch of Kazcosmos, Kazakhstan's national space agency; at bottom is the flag of Kazakhstan. During training, Aimbetov wore two other patches specific to him. The emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan: And a patch featuring an orange, blue and green tri-leaf design: |

He has a CNES Cadmos patch. CADMOS is one of nine User Operations and Support Centres (USOCs) in Europe selected by ESA to help users operate equipment on the ISS. Based at Toulouse Space Centre. |

That patch reads: "Expo 2017, Future Energy, Astana Kazakhstan." Expo 2017 is an International Exposition scheduled to take place in 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan. On November 22, 2012 Astana was chosen by the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) as the venue to host Expo 2017, which will focus on the theme "Future Energy". The theme is aimed to concentrate on both the future of energy, but also on innovative, but practical energy solutions, and their global impact. Expo 2017 will be the first time that a major international exhibition of this kind is coming to a country from the former Soviet Union. More than 100 countries and 10 international organizations are expected to participate. Around 2 to 3 million people are expected to visit the international pavilions from June to September 2017. |

Thomas has a CADMOS patch on his training suit. CADMOS is a Spaceflight Control Center in Toulouse (France). A couple of years ago they celebrated their anniversary (20 years I feel). And Aimbetov is doing advertising for the Expo in Kazakhstan in 2017. On Aimbetov's suit we can see two patches (Kazakhstan flag and Kazkosmos logo) as spacepatches predicted (really strong they are to get information!) and also the emblem of Kazakhstan. I'm trying to get information on the origins of this emblem-patch. Either it was embroidered by Zvezda plant as the other two patches or it was embroidered by Kazakhstan side and Zvezda added it on the space suit. |

The seal of Kazakhstan on the spacesuit is different from the seal on the training suit. Kazakhstan side gave the patch to Zvezda plant to add it on Sokol. Haven't found yet the manufacturer of another version of the seal. But it was embroidered in Russia. |
