Akihiko Hoshide's Expedition 32/33 JAXA patch

The JAXA logo for the 32nd and 33rd expedition missions to the International Space Station (ISS) is designed based on the football used in rugby, a favorite sport of JAXA Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide. It signifies the rugby spirit of teamwork under the theme of "One for all, all for one," which also is common in the ISS program to ensure its successful operation and utilization.

The outbound spiral represents the expanding potential of our future in technology, science, medicine, and the arts, with the ISS and Kibo as the starting point. The six stars represent the six crew members onboard the ISS during each expedition.

Superb. I wrote to Aki a couple of days ago to tell him. He is delighted with the final product.
