Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission patchesNASA's Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) was launched Nov. 26, 2011 from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The Curiosity rover is scheduled to land on the Red Planet on Aug. 6, 2012. At least three different embroidered versions of the official mission insignia (above) have been produced. Above: Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) sourced patch, circa 2009, made for MSL team members. Above: Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) sourced patch (2011), made as a souvenir. In addition to the official logo patches, at least three related mission patches have been produced. Above: U.S. Air Force 45th Space Wing Atlas V MSL (AV-028) patch. Above: USAF 45th Space Wing Mars Science Lab Curiosity patch. Above: Kennedy Space Center sourced patch (2011) produced as a souvenir. Available from the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

I have the patch from the JPL store and the one from KSC gift shop. Do you know where one might find the 45th Air Force Atlas MSL patch? |

The last round patch was also available at the KSC employee store - interestingly it was more expensive than the shaped patch. |

Does anyone know who manufactured these patches? I have received numerous inquiries asking if an MSL patch can be purchased. |

I purchased mine from the JPL Store however it was not on or in any type of package that had information on it, only loose by itself. |
