Has anyone ever seen either the LRO and/or LCROSS logos in patch form? The LRO logo would make an incredible looking patch! I also love the blue, silver and grey colors in the LCROSS logo. You'd also have a very neat 3-D effect with the LCROSS logo in an embroidered patch. |

Does anyone know if these patches are available for purchase? I've searched the usual stores for space collectors but no success so far. |

Yeah, these patches are not yet released to the public for purchase I guess. I cannot find any of these patches anywhere either. I mean correct me if I am wrong but I was thinking since the LRO/LCROSS mission is the first mission under Project Constellation then we obviously are looking at the very first Constellation mission patch. You would think they would eventually have to release the LRO/LCROSS patch that we see pictured above. Hopefully someone will know more in the days to come. |

Public affairs officers from Goddard Space Flight Center (LRO) and Ames Research Center (LCROSS) said that neither spacecraft's insignia was produced as an embroidered patch.LRO's logo was adapted for decals, lapel pins (two different styles) and temporary tattoos. LCROSS' logo also was made into lapel pin. A patch was produced but not using the insignia (as pictured below). |

Very interesting! Thank you so much for looking into this Robert. Is this LCROSS patch that you just posted more like a commemorative patch then? That is what I am thinking only because I know that the LRO/LCROSS patch that you posted here a few days ago is the actual mission patch. |

The LCROSS patch was produced for NASA Ames and was distributed to team members and launch guests. It is not however the mission logo. Here are the lapel pins (the bottom right is the United Launch Alliance logo for the Atlas V launch). |

Wonderful pins. Any info about the origin of the two LCROSS pins? Are they from Ames or from Grumman? |

Does anyone know off hand if AB Emblem is going to release the LRO/LCROSS mission patch any time in the future? I hope they would because it is the first mission patch for the Constellation program. |

To help those planning observation parties for the October 9 LCROSS impact, NASA has put together an Impact Kit website, where they provide pointers to several LCROSS resources. Among them: LCROSS LRO/LCROSS - Stickers, patches, and lapel pins are from Elite Images.
The contact is Gina Williams at gina@eliteimageinc.com or (301) 924-5877.
With the exception of the LCROSS Apparel, the patches and pins are not displayed on their respective websites. The companies may also not be set-up to accommodate orders of just one of each; these resources are meant for those ordering quantities to support parties. |
