Is there more than one version of the STS-107 mission patch?
I know of course the official 4" AB Emblem patch is the one the crew wore. I did not think any other company made this patch.
I did see however on eBay a 3" inch version maybe made by AB Emblem? Then I also saw on eBay a version with a blue background instead of a black background.
If anyone can clarify on this I would appreciate it.

The STS-107 patch had blue background, not black.

Great scan! Yes, it is a dark blue background and with black cloth is underneath.
I am a fairly new patch collector and I haven't yet bought a lot of the shuttle patches yet but I am getting there.
This is such a beautiful patch.

Is this the STS-107 patch you are talking about with the blue space area? Not sure who made this one but the real patch dose not have an overlock border.

I've often wondered if this is the most widely produced shuttle mission patch. I've seen so many that were produced after the accident, that I don't know if I knew what the original one looked like. That iconic image of the burnt patch in the grass in East Texas is also burnt into my brain.

Yes, that is the blue version I saw on eBay. It looks like there are a couple of them judging from the picture it is a lighter shade of blue than the official AB Emblem patch. Also the border like you said is different and the shuttle wings are rounded off.
