This card arrived yesterday in the mail. Nice to know (like Neil Armstrong) John Glenn has a collection too. In the event the photo is not clear the note reads: Jon McBride gave me the collection of patches you designed - many thanks. They will be part of our collection. Best regards, John Glenn |

Thank you for all the kind words. As for the size of my head, John Glenn has a wonderful story about how Annie keeps his ego in check. I have a wife like that too. I've been asked many times times which patch I like best, the real answer is "the next one". The memory of working with people I consider as heroes is what makes it for me. I'm a very lucky guy and have been blessed to work with Jorge, get to know Luc, Jacques and Erik, "e-meet" Blake, collaborate with Nathan as well as one of the great unsung artists Bill from Space Emblem Art. How I miss his website. As for a cS patch. Robert and I did kick around ideas a few years ago that just didn't work. I'm always willing to revisit that project. Watch this space for news about my 12 inch Space Shuttle Commemorative, "A Generation of Exploration." Coming really soon. |

I received Tim's Friendship 7 50th Anniversary patch along with Nathan Moeller's 50 Years of America in Orbit patch. Both are very nice and surprisingly large. Well done guys. |

I've purchased several of Tim's commemoratives, including Glenn/Friendship 7, and have never been disappointed...they're truly little works of art. Reeeeally looking forward to the big Shuttle patch. |

I did not miss one of Tim´s patches the last years! All of them are great, each a fine little piece of art to honor our heroes and favourite space flight programs. I have them in my collection, some of them framed with precious astronaut autographs and some I bought twice to wear them on my flight jackets too.I am curious about how the new Shuttle Commemorative Patch will look like! |

Great patch and I love the Glenn note! quote: Originally posted by onesmallstep: Now all we need is a cS patch designed by Tim to help identify ourselves as we go from one space event to another!
I like that idea. Heck, the logo off the top of the website could easily be made into a nametape-shaped patch that would look nice as well. quote: Originally posted by KSCartist: As for the size of my head, John Glenn has a wonderful story about how Annie keeps his ego in check. I hear you there. My expertise is in other fields than space stuff. But every time my name shows up in a magazine article, book or I show up on TV somewhere, my wife always makes sure to immediately remind me that I have to take the garbage out or take our pooch outside to do his thing. Just like the ending of the movie 'Patton,' there is always that warning that "all glory is fleeting." |

I'd been meaning to bump up this thread after receiving my 12" Space Shuttle commemorative patches from Tim.People, this patch is gorgeous. Calling it a "patch" even seems inadequate...it's more like a small tapestry, beautifully rendered and executed in embroidery. Pictures don't do it justice...trust me, if you're a Shuttle fan, you really need this. |

I received mine a few days ago from SkyForce patches. I bought one for my shuttle patch collection, but it looks so great, that I have to buy another one to wear on the back of my shuttle flight jacket! This is THE patch, I was waiting for, to wear on the back of the jacket! |

I know what you mean. I bought two myself. One for the collection and one for the back of my shuttle flight jacket. This is a beautiful patch! |

I agree with an earlier comment that this is more like a tapestry than a patch. As such I will have it framed to a standard which matches its own quality.Tim, long may you continue to serve up such delights. |

Tim, You did such wonderful patches to commemorate the Mercury flights of Gus Grissom, John Glenn, Scott Carpenter and a real outstanding patch for Wally Schirra! Are You going to do another Mercury 50th anniversary commemorative for Gordon Cooper´s Faith7 flight? - I hope "the best pilot You ever saw" will get his patch! |

Thanks for the very kind words about the Mercury 50th anniversary patches.Jorge and I have designed not only a Faith 7 50th patch, but also a proper Freedom 7 50th. The official one was subpar. Big Al deserved better. We're just waiting for feedback from the families. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wow, Tim, that's great news!!! I hope the families of the astronauts will like your designs!I am real looking forward to those patches, because today I was able to finish my autograph collection I call "The Right Stuff wall" (Yeager and the Mercury astronauts), and all these autographs will be framed together with your commemorative patches. |
