Dragon Models has announced a 1:48 Apollo 11 CSM + LM + LES model kit, release date October 2020, includes the entire Apollo stack, including the BPC and SLA, the latter molded in clear plastic. |

I wonder if it will have a completely transparent SLA or just the petals like on their 1/72 Apollo 10 kit several years ago. The lower section of the SLA is on a sprue with the BPC and LES, that despite the same graphics, were molded in gray instead of clear. However, the same sprue in the 1/72 Saturn V kit was molded in clear. |

The good thing about this is that if the LM is folded up and enclosed in the SLA, its odd proportions will be mostly hidden, and it might turn out to be a pretty nice display. | |
